Bourjois Flower Perfection Foundation Review

Afternoon ladies,

Now as you may know if you read my past blog posts, i love Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation which has been a firm favorite of mine for a few years now but i thought i should branch out a little and give another of there foundation a chance.

So i welcome to the stage..... Flower perfection foundation in shade No 51 (light vanilla)

It contains SPF 15, smells of wild azalea (apparently) and promises to last up to 16 hours with youth cell protection thrown in.

I have to say that it doesn't smell as nice as the healthy mix one and it certainly doesn't smell of flowers, i'm not really keen on what it does smell like which is kind of a chemical odor if that makes sense (have a sniff and you'll find out!).

As for the texture it boarders on the medium to thick coverage which is lovely as it spread well but i would recommend to use your fingers as the warmth will help it blend in better then a brush because of the consistency (has a sponge on top but that's not really very helpful!). I still use a concealer over the top (another Bourjois product i will be reviewing next) because i have big luggage under my eyes to contend with and a lot of redness around the nose which i'm sure a few layers of foundation could handle but i just prefer a concealer.

I have normal to oily skin so come the 6 hour mark of wearing it i do start to get a tad shiny around the t-zone but nothing a little light powdering couldn't handle. It defiantly wouldn't last 16 hours on me though as mainly i don't tend to wear make up for that long but also because i don't believe it could last this long (on me that is, it could be different for others!).

It has 5 shades in total which i think most certainly needs expanding as it has nothing for darker ladies and there is no happy medium between No 51 light vanilla and No 52 vanilla which may sound similar but are very different shades. Light vanilla matched with my pale complexion pretty perfectly actually so if your pale i'd head for that shade.

Overall it's a nice foundation but i will be going back to the Healthy Mix Foundation right after this is finished with.

Find it HERE at Boots for £10.99

So keep a look out for them because they shall be aimed at everyone from your smelly little brother to your glamorous Auntie (if you have any of them that is lol).

Has panic set in yet or are you more then prepared for the chaos ahead???

You Light Up My Life......

Evening Ladies,

I ain't a candle girl, I shall openly admit that but lately I've been getting in the festive spirit (i have already bought and wrapped half of my presents for family and friends, plus have a list of the things i still have to get and for who! I know pretty anal right lol). There for I'm surrendering to the beautiful scent that is Christmas in a candle and here are 3 that are on my wish list.....

1. Boots No 25 Mulled Wine & Cinnamon Candle

I was in Boots shopping for make up (what else!!!) and wandered into the 3 for 2 section to pick up a few Christmas presents when i spotted the candles! i had a good sniff of all of them and was about to give up because my nose couldn't take any more when i had a whiff of this beauty. For £7 it comes in lovely packaging and smells so festive that you'd be silly to pass it up, perfect stocking filler (well my stocking that is he he)

I just want to eat this! (i won't don't worry, i haven't quite lost it that much...yet). Its so lovely, a very comforting scent and it just makes me feel like snuggling up in bed and reading a book. This one pictured above is £9.95 and it also comes in a smaller jar, small candle, tart wax block, a large 2 wick candle & a large candle in a jar (see link which is the title to get to website and check out all the range).

Now this bad boy is candle royalty to me! At a whopping £42 it's defiantly a luxury purchase and one i probably won't be making as I'd rather spend that on Miss Dior Cherie perfume he he but if someone (cough cough) was nice enough to give it to me as a gift then i would be over the moon :)

You a candle fan?! If so what would be on your wish list?

Brushing up on hair care

Hey Ladies,

Now I'm ashamed to admit it but i own one disgustingly old hair brush and a comb that gets tangled up in my hair more then it brushes it!

I know i need to invest in a new one but when it comes to hair brushes they baffle me, I'm not gonna lie. There so many different shapes and sorts that i get down the Boots isle and just stare blankly for a few minutes until i wander off in defeat.

Until now! Meet Tangle Teezer.....

As gross as this may sound to some of you, i recently used my friends one and loved it! Its so easy to carry around if needed and you don't accidentally bash yourself over the head with it when your holding the handle too low down (happens all the time to me, honestly i should come with a health and safety warning sticker!).

The moral of this story is a shall be purchasing one from Boots as soon as and i shall let you know how i get on!

A Little Obsessed....

Evening ladies,

I have a habit of when i get something in  my head i only show shear determination till i get it like for example my River Island leather jacket which i got for a steal off Ebay! i fought till the very end to get that bad boy and when i got it i was so pleased with myself that i told anyone who'd listen, whether they were interested or not.

My point being here is that i have a new obsession to fixate on.......

A ONESIE!!!!!

How cool is this?! i love it right down to the Christmasy pattern and i will not stop till i get my grubby little mitt's on it.

If you share the same craving then you can find this fetching item at VERY or many other bit high street stores now stock similar ones. But if all else fails head on over to good old Ebay and pick up a bargain there :)

Whats your thoughts on the new trend? Your dream cosy night in wear or just a fuzzy nightmare?

Kardashian's take over the UK

Afternoon ladies,

Everyone has a guilty pleasure whether you like to admit it or not and today I'm about to confess to mine...... Keeping Up With The Kardashians!!!

I have probably watched every episode going along with the follow on series such as Khole & Lamar, Kim & Kourtney Take New York, etc. I wouldn't go as far to say I'm obsessed but i do have a soft spot for them (not in a rude way, just in a way that i respect there family closeness and i LOVE there fashion sense!).

So you can imagine my excitement when i heard that launching on 8th November 2012 exclusively in Dorothy Perkins was the full Kardashian Kollection including everything from dresses and blouses to handbags and accessories.

How amazballs do they look huh?! These ladies have some serious style and i will be hopping on the KK train as soon as i get my Christmas money, that is for a sure fact.

The great thing is that i don't just love it because of who's name is on the label, i genuinely think that there is some gorgeous pieces in the collection! There so wearable and on trend with good quality to boot. There's is cuts for all shapes and sizes which i think comes through because they are such curvaceous girls. As for the affordability, well i think that's where the best bit comes in..... anyone could buy them! There the same prices if not cheaper then any good high street brand anywhere.

Here's just a little taster of what the Kollection is all about:

Please swing by Kardashian Kollection At Dorothy Perkins for the full Kollection and let me know what you think :)

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Special Edition

Evening ladies,

If you've heard of Liz Earle then you've probably by now discovered her cleanse & polish cleanser that gets right to the toughest of corners with no drama and no harmful chemical in sight!

I got converted to Liz Earle by Chris's mum who practically forced it on my face because she was such a religious user so naturally once the bug had be caught there was no stopping me.

When i went shopping in John Lewis the other day i headed for the Liz Earle counter not expecting to find this:

This take on the old classic has been created in support of the Princes Trust and working closely with one of there young entrepreneurs Rebecca Taylor to create this Special Edition of Rose petals and lavender essential oils cleanse & polish. After purchasing this product £2 of it will go towards the work of The Princes Trust so a very worthy cause in my opinion plus your skin will be treated to an extra special treat with these fresh, new ingredients.

You can find this in John Lewis stores (i checked online to see if it was there but it wasn't for some strange reason!) or HERE on the Official Liz Earle site.

Starbucks & Shopping

Hey ladies,

Boy did i shop till i dropped the other day!

It was a much needed outing evolving some hard core early Christmas shopping (which unfortunately i can't share with you as i might spoil someones surprise!).

Anyways i did however stop at Starbucks and have a test run of something I'm not even sure of how to describe:

In my excitement to try this special concoction i forgot to take a picture but i managed to get this shot at the half way point! It was like a chocolate milkshake with lots of whipped cream on top (could of had a shot of coffee in it but thought best not to on my first try).

I originally went in for a Ginger bread skinny latte then i realised if i don't like ginger bred biscuits then i ain't gonna like that so then i was going to tackle the toffee nut latte but some how winded up with this thanks to the sales bloke behind the counter :/

Anyway moral of the story is when going into Starbucks be clear on what you want first and stick to your guns other wise life could get pretty complex lol.

Garnier Olia Permanent Hair Colour Review

Afternoon ladies,

Now if your like me and like to save a little money here and there then you'll know that when it comes to colouring your hair home kits are they way to go!

I've been dying my hair for years which you'd never be able to tell because i usually stick to as close to my natural hair colour as possible. So why do it? i hear you ask....

Because i can! i can venture into different shades to see if they work for me and if i don't like it i can change right back again all at the expense of around £6.

I decided to venture in to new grounds when i saw this new Olia by Garnier with £1 off in Morrison's (original price is £6.99) and thought what the heck.

I found it dumb persons proof (which is always a essential when I'm involved) with clear instructions, step by step guide of what to put where and how to applie correctly and also the conditioner that came with this was a good size and smelt of cocoa which made a nice change from the usual small, foul smelling excuse for a conditioning treatment that usual comes with hair dyes!

As you can see I'm a bun person, some ladies can leave there dyed hair hanging around there shoulders but that just winds me up (a bit like hair getting stuck on a freshly lip glossed mouth, it gives me the same annoyed anxiety).

The dye went on to dry hair which was a new one as usual you have to dampen your locks first, it also took 10 minutes longer to set by leaving the product on for half an hour in total!

Over all it left my hair smooth, shiny and the colour was exactly as it described on the box- 4.15 Iced Chocolate. This product contains 60% oils and with no ammonia the smell was not over powering and didn't made you want to fumigate your bath room afterwards.

I'll have to get back to you on the longevity of it as i have only had it on for a week but so far so good and i think i can safely say i will be purchasing another bottle in maybe a different shade next time (don't panic it won't be anything as dramatic as blonde though so don't get your hope up).

Winter Essentials

Me again,

With winter nights drawing in and slowly starting to lose all feeling in our extremities i think it's time to crack out the winter comforts!

The following is what i couldn't make it through our nippy British weather without with a mixture of odds & sods and a bit of make-up thrown in for good measure:

1. Scarfs, gloves, hats and the occasional ear muff!

I don't know about you lot but i live in scarfs in the winter months other wise my head trys to sink into my neck like some kind of weird turtle creature and that's never an attractive look for anyone.

2. Lip Balm
(Carmex is one of my favorite as it keeps lips moist for longer then most balms
and they've even branched out into some new flavors!)

This is an all year round must really but even more so when it gets to that stage where your lips start to chap and peel! The key is to find the right one for you, I know some people like to use lip scrubs like the ones from Lush then attack them with as much Vaseline as humanly possible but i think if you keep on top of them from the word go then there's no need for such extremes!

3. Boots

A good pair of boots are majorly important to get you through! i live in my boots in winter time and boy do i pack as many socks into them bad boys as they will allow me. I tend to lean towards the leather variety with a solid soul as the Ugg variety can sometime get ruined by the wet and snow but i do love a pair of snuggley boots i will admit that much!

4. Moisturizer

My skin could not cope with the cold, harsh weather if it wasn't for moisturizer that's a sure fact! Where as the sun is the major threat in the summer, the wind is the biggy in the winter and boy does it sting when it hits. Philosophy is a brand i'v always been desperate to try so if you guys recommend please leave a comment below.
Other wise i have found brands like Nivea (the night cream because its thicker), Olay, Liz Earle or Clinique to be trust worthy in keeping your skin safe from the elements.

Now i have plenty more like layers, which my Nan always taught me was essential because a cold back could lead to chilled kidneys (or something like that lol) but i think you get the general gist here so with that piece of wisdom in mind i'll leave you to your hopefully toasty evening by a fire somewhere :)

L' Occitane Fleur Cherie

Afternoon ladies,

Now this sounded a tad on the posh side to me at first but once i worked out firstly what it was and secondly how amazing it smelt, well there was really no stopping me!

"Light yet sophisticated, fresh yet sensual, Fleur Chérie brings you a warm and elegant fragrant touch in the heart of Winter.
The fresh aromas of orange blossom and sweet blackcurrant notes envelop the sensuous woody scents of cedar and musk. Fleur Chérie is an ode to the most cherished flower in the Mediterranean; the exquisitely delicate orange blossom."

How amazballs does that sound??? I just had to borrow this description from the website because my poor excuse for one would of just paled in comparison.

If you want to get your little mitt's on this juicey lot then you can find them here: L'Occitane website or I'v even spied them on Amazon if you want to swing by there and have a little look see.

Defiantly recommend this as a winter essential but of course if this is not your cup of tea then there's plenty more scents to chose from!
